Alternative TV Viewing: The BRIT Awards 2009

In an genius attempt to put back the “Music” in “MuchMusic” – MuchMusic will broadcast The BRIT Awards for the first time in a long time. It’ll feel like the 90s again!

I’ve tried to steer clear of being told who picked up the trophies last week in order to be genuinely into tonight’s airing. Scheduled performers include U2, Coldplay, Take That, Pet Shop Boys, Kings of Leon (pictured), Duffy and Girls Aloud. I spent about a month in England over the summer so I’m really looking forward to Duffy – this girl is amazing. And those chicks from Girls Aloud are also nice to look at. I’m also stoked to see U2, Coldplay and the Pet Shop Boys perform as well as Kings of Leon since I don’t think I’ve ever seen them performlive before. To be honest, I could care less about Take ThatKylie Minogue host’s the ceremony along with these two other blokes: James Corden and Matthew Horne.

The 2 hour ceremony first airs tonight (Thursday, February 26) at 6pm…which is good since you won’t miss any of the Thursday-Must-See shows. Repeats later tonight at 9pm and last airs tomorrow at 3pm.
