Another Day, Another Drama | Tuesday, February 3, 2009

I did not really learn much from TV this past week. Mostly trying to catch up on stuff…how awesome is The Real World: Brooklyn?! Anyway, looks like I’ll skip the lessons in television for today, hopefully I’ll learn something new in the next few days, but here’s some drama…

Ryan Eggold who plays professor Ryan Matthews on 90210 spoke with the UK’s Digital Spy about how he feels about the Melrose Place reboot and he isn’t too thrilled: “I have two thoughts. My first is that it’s extremely depressing that there’s no original content to be made. Hollywood seems to be out of ideas and just taking old things that have worked and redoing them. I know there’s writers out there with new material, so it just seems lazy to take old shows that have worked and do them again.” Kinda shocking considering he’s on the NEW 90210! To be honest, I was actually thinking his character could fit into the new Melrose before this but then again, the Kelly/Ryan/Brenda triangle was far more interesting than any of the current stories.

Jimmy Fallon will be dropping by to visit Conan’s Late Night on Feb. 11. He takes over full-time on March 2nd. Not really drama, but something to check out. I’m actually looking forward to the Fallon era of Late Night…along with George’s The Hour, some Chelsea Lately and the late edition of an After Show…late night is looking hip.

Page Six is reporting that the producers of The City tried to stage a physical fight between Whitney Port and Olivia Palermo AT the DVF office. Both stars refused this as it was completely unprofessional. The fight was supposed to take place when Olivia got upset that Whitney’s boyfriend, Jay Lyon, was underdressed at a fundraiser. What a coincidence, the fundraiser episode airs next Monday.
