Melrose Place: New Posters and Casting News

The CW has released three new posters for its upcoming Melrose Place reboot. The first poster, “Tuesdays are a Bitch” pays tribute to the 90s version with Heather Locklear (“Mondays are a Bitch”) and features Katie Cassidy as the new head bitch in charge, Ella, along with Ashlee Simpson-Wentz as the mysterious newbie Violet and of course, Laura Leighton as Sydney Andrews.

Cassidy’s Ella and Simpson-Wentz’ Violet are featured again in the second ad alongside former All My Children actor Colin Egglesfield as chef Auggie. The third ad features Stephanie Jacobsen as call-girl Lauren with Shaun Sipos as Michael Mancini’s long-lost kid David…while dear old pop (Thomas Calabro) stares (disapprovingly, of course).

Original actors Daphne Zuniga (Jo Reynolds) and Josie Bissett (Jane Mancini) have agreed to guest star while Brooke Burns will appear as Michael’s new wife, Vanessa and Victor Webster has been tapped to play Caleb, Ella’s new boss. Earlier this week, it was announced that Kelly Carlson would appear as Wendi, Laruen’s madam.

Having seen the pilot, I’m really looking forward to the new take on the famous apartment complex…and yes, it IS much better than the 90210 reboot pilot. The series premiere is set for Tuesday, September 8th at 9pm, following 90210 on The CW. Global will air the show Wednesdays at 10pm this Fall.
