Soap News: Kimberly McCullough OUT & Donna Mills IN at General Hospital
Soap News is back for a special second edition (we usually run one each week) as there’s more scoop to go over since Friday’s edition with the major Y&R spoiler. Check out the latest comings and goings at General Hospital, this week’s promos and more!
— Kimberly McCullough (Robin, General Hospital) confirmed to Daytime Confidential during ABC’s TCA party that she’ll be exiting the soap once again to focus on her career as a director. Although the actress still two weeks’ worth of episodes to tape (according to Soaps In Depth), she does believe that the scrubs fans “are going to be pissed. Really. They’re going to be pissed. I’m sorry.” Yikes, Scrubs fans! McCullough also shares that Robin will head out of Port Charles “because of her love for another character that is not Patrick on the canvas.” Check out the full interview here.
How do you feel GH fans? It was great to have Robin finally reunite with her family after almost two years and now we have to get ready to see her leave again.
— Also from Daytime Confidential, ABC Entertainment Group President Paul Lee hopes that General Hospital will stay on ABC “for a very, very long time.” Click here to see Lee praise GH head writer Ron Carlivati and executive producer Frank Valentini for “reinventing the soap.”
— Soap Opera Uncensored is reporting that Days of our Lives is looking to cast a 40 to 60-year-old professional male as an IRS agent.
— Look for former One Life to Live star Chris McKenna (ex-Joey) to pop up on The Young and the Restless for “at least a few episodes.” McKenna appeared on OLTL from 1990-1993 (before Nathan Fillion), you might also remember him as 90210’s Patrick from 2011-2013.
— Primetime suds fans: Donna Mills, best known for playing Abby Ewing on Knots Landing will be coming to General Hospital in late February, Entertainment Weekly reports. Look for her to play a “big” character.
