2014 fall tv cancellations renewals

Here’s a scorecard on what the American networks have either cancelled or picked up during the 2014-2015 television season.

This list mostly lists the newer series which made their debut this fall in addition to any new episodes ordered (The Mindy Project) or reduced (Mulaney). Concluding early next year is NBC’s Parenthood while CBS could choose to end CSI after this season.

Picked up for a full season

ABC

  • How to Get Away with Murder (CTV)
  • Black-ish (City)
  • Forever (CTV)
  • Cristela

CBS

  • Scorpion (City)
  • Madam Secretary (Global)
  • NCIS: New Orleans (Global)
  • Stalker (Global)
  • Under the Dome (Global; returns for season three in the summer)
  • Extant (Global’ returns for a second season in the summer)

NBC

  • The Mysteries of Laura (CTV)

Fox

  • Gotham (CTV)
  • The Mindy Project (City) was originally only picked up for 15 episodes but Fox has ordered more episodes, bringing its third season total to 21

The CW

  • The Flash (CTV)
  • Jane the Virgin (Streams on Shomi in Canada)

Cable networks

  • FX’s American Horror Story will return for fifth season next year
  • USA Network’s Graceland will return for a third season next summer; airs on Bravo in Canada

What’s been cancelled

ABC

  • Manhattan Love Story
  • Selfie will conclude its initial 13 episode first season on Hulu in the U.S.

CBS

  • Unforgettable (CTV)
  • The Millers (CTV)

NBC

  • A to Z will conclude its initial 13 episode first season but some are holding hope that NBC could order a second season (Global)
  • Bad Judge (Global)

Fox

  • Utopia was quickly cancelled earlier this fall (City)

Cable networks

  • FX has cancelled The Bridge after two seasons
  • Lifetime has cancelled both The Lottery and The Witches of East End
  • TNT has cancelled Franklin & Bash after four seasons; the series was broadcast in Canada on Bravo for its first three season before moving to M3 this past summer
  • TNT has also announced that it would not be going forward with a fourth season of Dallas (which aired on Bravo in Canada). Producers for the Warner Bros. series failed to find another network

  • The McCarthys (CTV)

NBC

  • State of Affairs (Global)

Fox

  • Mulaney (Global) order was reduced from 16 episodes to 13
  • Fox has halted production on Red Band Society (Global) but it hasn’t officially been cancelled yet
  • Gracepoint (Global) – don’t count on a second season (yeah, yeah… I know it’s an “event” series, but still)
