Pilar Nemer, the 22-year-old student from Dartmouth, N.S., was the second houseguest to be evicted on last Wednesday’s (May 20) double eviction. We chat with Pilar about how her alliance and showmance helped her game, who she doesn’t want to see win the game and her most memorable experience in the house.

What made you decide to try out for Big Brother Canada? Were you a fan of the American or Canadian past seasons?
I’ve always been a fan of Big Brother. I started watching Big Brother U.S. and then I got to watch Big Brother Canada. Obviously Big Brother Canada is fresher in my mind right now… I’m a part of it now!

What made me try out for it? Honestly Emmett and Jillian. I knew they were going to be where the casting was being held, so that’s the reason why I went there. I just went for it [the audition]!

Why did you decide to quickly align yourself with Kevin? Do you think coupling up together hurt your game?
I didn’t really plan on coupling up with him. We just had an instant connection and became close friends. I knew I could trust him, so I might as well work with him. It wasn’t planned and we worked fine together until he got evicted.

I don’t think it hurt my game. I think it helped because he was the first target before myself. I think if people were going to go after the showmances, it was going to be him before me. It kinda help. It wasn’t planned, but it helped.

If you could play this game differently, what would you have done?
I wouldn’t have played the game differently. I didn’t have a plan going into the house. I didn’t really have a strategy. I was just being myself. I stayed loyal to myself and my people. I wasn’t expecting anything because in the Big Brother house, you can never expect anything. Everything changes within minutes.

You laid pretty low throughout the game and managed to escape being on the block for several weeks, was it part of your strategy? What was your strategy exactly?
I didn’t have a strategy going into the house. I know I’m bubbly and goofy girl. I’m such a tiny girl that people don’t take me seriously sometimes. Yes I can be funny and yes I can be goofy but I can be a serious girl. I can be a competitor and can take things pretty serious sometimes. People didn’t know that and that kept me off the block. It didn’t make me a threat or a target for anyone.

Who would you like to see win the game? Who wouldn’t you have liked to see win?
I would love to see my girl Ashleigh win the game! She’s strong. She’s the only one left from the Diaper Alliance, so she’s going to make us proud I’m sure. I have a feeling that Sarah will still be standing in the final two and she’s got a pretty good shot. She has no blood on her hands. She’s a great manipulator and a great social player. She can do this easily, no problem with her hands clean.

I would not want to see Brittnee win. She’s a great player. She’s been lucky to have twists thrown at her so she’s made great moves because of it. Which is great for her but she got me out, she got Kevin out… She got half my alliance out! I would not want to see her win. She deserves it but I would not want that.

Was there anyone outside of your alliance that you now wish you would have aligned yourself with?
Honestly I’m happy with the alliance that I was part of. It’s really hard to trust people in the house. Once you stick with someone, you have to be loyal to them. Zach was in seven or nine alliances and I wouldn’t be able to do that because I had a really hard time trusting people. I’m happy with the alliance I made with Jordan, Kevin, Ashleigh and Zach.

What was your most memorable moment from this experience?
There were a lot of them but one of them was winning HOH. I wanted to win HOH so that I could fully get the Big Brother Canada experience where I got the room, the letter from home, the pictures — all that.

The two hour season finale of Big Brother Canada airs Wednesday, May 27 at 8pm on Global TV.
