Jason Roy was sadly evicted last week from the Big Brother house. We spoke to Jason about being backdoored by Vanessa, what took so long for the rest of the house to target Shelli and Clay as well as Liz’s mean goodbye message.

So sorry to see you go! Fans were just as shocked as you were when Vanessa put you up. How far do you see her lasting in the house? What do you think about her game play?

I think that if Vanessa hadn’t made that move against me last week she would have been sailing through this game easily. She’s making big moves but somehow always looks innocent doing it, but doing what she did to me last week definitely exposed her to my side of the house as well as her side of the house. Moving forward, I think that she’s going to have a much harder time getting to the end.

It looks as if Shelli and Clay could finally be separated this week. What took so long? Why didn’t anyone try to split them up before? You guys really let them control the house for a long time.

We did let them control the house for a long time. It was really hard those last four weeks that I spent in the house. It was a back and forth with Vanessa and Shelli in power and Vanessa is just as attached to Shelli [as Clay]. There was no way we could have gotten them up. We could have done it in the first week. It’s good to see that somebody else finally has the power and knows what to do with it!

Did you ever consider confronting Liz/Julia about the twin twist? It became the thing you all talked about but never officially brought up and now there’s that extra player in the house. Why wasn’t anything done to vote out Liz before her sister entered the game as her own player?

My agenda was to get Liz out as a single player because I thought it would open up opportunities for people in jury to come back or for pre-jury evicted houseguests to come back. I would have loved to see some people who were already out, like Da’Vonne, get an opportunity to come back in because it that would have been good for my game.

So yes, my agenda was to always get the twins out, but the more people that knew and we talked about it, it slowly got turned into them getting pushed back as targets because other people were making themselves bigger targets. I think that they were lucky that they were able to slide along and that nobody on my side of the house got power… Because if we did, we would have put up other people and if a backdoor scenario came up, we would have stuck Liz and Julia up in that spot!

Liz was pretty mean in her goodbye message to you. What message would you have for her if you had the chance to send her a message right now? How did things stand between yourself and Julia?

[Laughs] At the beginning at the game, I really thought I got along better with Liz. Julia seemed like the quiet one and I didn’t connect with her as much. But as it went on, I did most of the “Whackstreet Boys” with Julia and it let us bond. I did love both Liz and Julia before it all turned sour in the end. They were funny girls and I enjoyed talking to them.

There were definitely some shots fired by Liz in her goodbye message. But that’s the game, we’re all in there saying things. I obviously work in a grocery store and live in my mother’s basement, so she ain’t telling me something that I don’t know.

If I was to say something to Liz it would be: You shouldn’t be laying in somebody’s bed, pretending that you like someone just for a cheque, because you know what that makes you!

Have you had a chance to watch any of the episodes? Who are you rooting for?

I have only watched five or six episodes, which is very strange… I’m going through them quite slow because I’m watching re-watching almost every scene, going “Oh my god, what did they just say?”

Who am I rooting for? I’m rooting for anyone that was on my island of the misfit toys! Jackie, Meg, James! I would love to see Johnny Mac pull it off! If Vanessa could get down there and if I was in jury, I’d vote for Vanessa to win. I’m not going to look at this bitterly. It’s a game and you have to play it. I would have done all those people dirty just as they did me. You really can’t be mad about it. You just have to respect who took the shot first!

Big Brother airs Sundays and Wednesdays at 8 p.m. and Thursdays at 9 p.m. on Global and CBS.
