We were all relieved when City TV confirmed that it would be airing the fourth season of The Mindy Project on TV this fall after it was cancelled by Fox and then saved by Hulu. Last month, City TV revealed their fall premiere dates, with Mindy, Danny, Morgan and co. making their Canadian return on Thursday, November 4th at 9:30 p.m. on the Rogers Media-owned channel.
A few weeks later (during the TCA summer tour), Hulu announced that The Mindy Project would debut its 26-episode fourth season on the American streaming platform on Tuesday, September 15th, almost two months before its premiere on City.
I reached out to City to see if they’d be moving Mindy’s premiere up to coincide with the American release, but as of right now, there are no plans to change the Canadian premiere.
OK Canadians, what do you think, will you wait for City to premiere the show?
UPDATE: Nov. 4 — City TV will now be premiering the fourth season of The Mindy Project at 8pm on Sunday, November 15th.
UPDATE: Sept. 10 — City TV has announced that Canadian viewers will be able to watch The Mindy Project each Wednesday at 12pm beginning Sept. 16 (the day after its premiere on Hulu in the U.S.) at citytv.com. ‘Mindy’ is still scheduled to make its televised premiere on Thursday, November 5 at 9:30 p.m. on City. No word yet if City will continue to premiere the episodes online after the first seven episodes.
