Two houseguests were sent home on last Thursday’s Big Brother. Meg Maley was the first houseguest to be evicted and was followed by her BFF in the house, 31-year-old James Huling. In our second interview from the double eviction, James talks about fellow players Austin and Vanessa.

Looking back, how would it have been possible to beat the Austin/Twins/Vanessa alliance?

I knew Austin and the twins were always gonna be a pain in my butt. But there was always someone in front of them that kept popping up when I wanted to take them out. Clay and Shelli — I don’t know what went wrong but they turned their backs on me. If they were aligned with me, I would have taken out one of the twins and this game would have been totally different. I was the only one on my side that was winning HOH’s.

Who do you think has played the strongest game this season?

Ultimately I feel like Austin is playing the best game — he has never been on the block [up until this week] — close to pulling another Derrick [from season 16].

What are your thoughts on Vanessa’s game play this summer? She’s managed to evade eviction all summer.

She’s definitely done a good job. The one week I could have gotten her out, I chose Shelli just because she had information that Becky was targeting me the week prior. But, I still feel like I made a good game move by getting Shelli out of the house. If she had won HOH, I probably would have gone out the week she won.

Big Brother airs Sundays and Wednesdays at 8 p.m. and Thursdays at 9 p.m. on Global and CBS. The 90-minute Big Brother 17 finale airs on September 23rd.
