Update: The first hour of Nashville’s 2-hour season five premiere will air as a special on Thursday, Dec. 15 at 9pm on W Network!

Canadians will get their chance to keep up with Nashville as the fifth season will air on W Network.

The show will return with a special two-hour premiere on Thursday, January 5 at 9 p.m. ET/PT – the same time and night as it debuts in the U.S. on CMT.

“W Network is a premier destination for content that women love, and a cornerstone of that offering are our compelling, scripted series, said John MacDonald, Senior Vice President, Women and Lifestyle Content at Corus Entertainment.

Nashville is the perfect addition to our programming lineup and we’re thrilled to share the upcoming dramatic season with Canadian fans.”

The series – which is produced by Lionsgate, ABC Studios and Opry Entertainment – was picked up for a fourth season by CMT (in the U.S.) following its cancellation by ABC. It has been announced that series star Connie Britton (Rayna) will depart the show after appearing in just 10 of the 22 episodes.

Cast members returning in season five include Hayden Panettiere (Juliette), Jonathan Jackson (Avery), Charles Esten (Deacon), Clare Bowen (Scarlett), Chris Carmack (Will), Sam Paladdio (Gunnar), Maisy Stella (Daphne) and Lennon Stella (Maddie).

Canadians can stream the first four seasons on Netflix. Season five episodes will be made available on wnetwork.com following their television broadcast.
