NBC’s new DC-inspired comedy Powerless will join the CTV schedule in Canada beginning Thursday, February 2 at 8:30 p.m. ET/PT.
The series stars Vanessa Hudgens (Grease Live) as Emily Locke, the new Director of Research & Development for Wayne Security, a company that specializes in products that help make defenceless bystanders feel a little safer in a world full of super heroes and villains. Also starring are Danny Pudi (Community), Alan Tudyk (Firefly), Christina Kirk (A to Z) and Ron Funches (Drunk History).
In the premiere, “Wayne of Lose,” Emily (Hudgens) begins her first day at a subsidiary of Wayne Enterprises. Full of confidence and big ideas, Emily quickly learns that her expectations far exceed those of her new boss and officemates. She quickly learns it will be up to her to lead the team toward their full potential and realizes that you don’t need superpowers to be a hero.
Powerless marks the first sitcom set within the world of the DC Universe and joins the roster of DC’s other shows on CTV and CTV Two: Arrow, The Flash, Gotham and DC’s Legends of Tomorrow. CTV’s new Thursday night schedule will consist of The Big Bang Theory at 8 p.m., followed by Powerless at 8:30 p.m. How to Get Away With Murder will now air an hour earlier, at 9 p.m. (will still continue to air at 10 p.m. on ABC) and new series Training Day at 10 p.m.
