Drew Barrymore stars in Netflix’s latest series, Santa Clarita Diet.
The series finds Joel (Justified’s Timothy Olyphant) and Sheila (Barrymore), who are husband and wife realtors leading vaguely disconnected lives in the Los Angeles suburb of Santa Clarita with their teenage daughter (Liv Hewson), until Sheila goes through a dramatic “change” sending their lives down a road of death and destruction, but in a good way.
The series also stars Ricardo Chavira (Desperate Housewives) as Joel and Sheila’s neighbour as well as Skyler Gosindo as Eric, a family friend. Recurring stars this season include Nathan Fillion, Natalie Morales, Thomas Lennon, Patton Oswalt, Portia de Rossi, Richard T. Jones and Mary Elizabeth Ellis.
Barrymore and Olyphant also serve as the series’ executive producers. Santa Clarita Diet was created by Victor Fresco, who also created Better Off Ted and Andy Richter Controls the Universe.
Santa Clarita Diet launches on Netflix this Friday, February 3, 2017. The first season of the 30-minute comedy will consist of ten episodes.
