Cohen passed away this past November. The revered Canadian is revered as one of the most iconic artists of the 20th century. A native of Montréal, Cohen released the first of 14 studio albums, Songs of Leonard Cohen in 1967 (at age 33). Fans remember classic hits as “Suzanne,” “Bird on a Wire,” “Everybody Knows,” “First We Take Manhattan,” “Closing Time,” and (the overly covered by his own admission) “Hallelujah.” His final studio album, You Want It Darker, was released in October.

This year’s ceremony will be held at the Canadian Tire Centre in Ottawa, Ontario, and will be hosted by Bryan Adams and Russell Peters.

Performers scheduled for the Canadian music award show include Arkells, A Tribe Called Red, Alessia Cara, Billy Talent, Dallas Smith, July Talk, Ruth B, Sarah McLachlan, Shawn Mendes and The Strumbellas. Presenters were also announced today, they include Bob Moses, Buffy Sainte-Marie, Chantal Kreviazuk, Coleman Hell, Delaney Jane, Jazz Cartier, Jess Moskaluke, Blue Rodeo’s Jimmy Cuddy, Marianas Trench’s Josh Ramsay, Mister of Canadian Heritage, the Honourable Mélanie Joly, Letterkenny stars Nathan Dales and Michelle Mylett, Sam Roberts Band, and Tasha the Amazon.

The 2017 Juno Awards will be broadcast in 4K on Sunday, April 2 at 6:30 p.m. ET on CTV and CTV Go. There will be no televised red carpet coverage. The ceremony will conclude at 9 p.m. and will not interfere in buzz-worthy Sunday night programs such as The Walking Dead (on AMC), Homeland (on Super Channel) and the finale of Big Little Lies (on HBO Canada).
