Chandler Massey is returning to Days of our Lives this September, reprising the iconic role of Will Horton, per Entertainment Weekly.

Massey earned three Daytime Emmy Awards for his portrayal of Sami (Alison Sweeney) and Lucas’ (Bryan Dattilo) son and left the soap in 2014. The role was recast with Guy Wilson, who last aired when Will was shockingly killed off in 2015, ahead of the soap’s “dark” 50th anniversary.

Alison Sweeney is also on her way back and will no doubt be part of Will’s “resurrection” storyline penned by new head scribe Ron Carlivati. Sweeney, who had been very vocal about noting being a fan of the storyline where Will was killed, tells Soap Opera Digest in this week’s issue that she’s “excited” to work with Chandler Massey again. “It’ll be fun to see what they have in store for our characters.”

As for how Will’s alive. (He was supposedly off by Neck-Tie-Killer Ben) No surprise here that it’s probably DiMera related… But with Stefano dead, could Kristen be behind it? We’ll have to tune in and see.
