Big Brother will return for its 19th season this Wednesday night with a two-hour premiere beginning at 8 p.m. on Global and CBS.
Hosted by Julie Chen, Big Brother follows a group of people living together in a house outfitted with over 80 HD cameras and more than 100 microphones at CBS Television City in Los Angeles, CA, which records every move over 24 hours a day. Each week, a houseguest is voted out by the rest of the house, with the last remaining houseguest receiving the grand prize of $500,000.
This season’s big twist, the “Den of Temptation,” will be unveiled during the Sunday, July 2, episode. The viewers will get the choice to vote on which houseguest they want to see get sent into the mystery room where they’ll be enticed by a potentially game-changing offer. “Temptation has always been a part of Big Brother but this summer we are testing the houseguests like never before,” said Rich Meehan, executive producer of Big Brother. “There are so many different paths the game could take this season depending on what the houseguests choose to do. With so many unknowns, we are excited to see how it all plays out.”
This season’s house will be outfitted with words like “Money” and “Revenge,” while houseguests will see a big symbol of temptation — a like a massive 13-foot tall abstract apple tree with LED lighting creating translucent “leaves” and over-sized apples. Rooms in the house will also carry out the theme as one bedroom will be designed with symbols of power, vanity, and greed.
