Global’s got a supernatural treat for fans this summer as Midnight, Texas debuts on tonight (July 24) at 9 p.m. ET (also airs on NBC in the U.S.).
Midnight, Texas sits on the veil between the living and dead — where nothing is what it seems. The series comes from Charlaine Harris, who wrote “The Southern Vampire Mysteries,” the novels which True Blood was based on. Midnight, Texas features two Canadian stars, Francois Arnaud (The Borgias) and Dylan Bruce (Orphan Black).
In the premiere, Manfred (played by Arnaud) — who is a powerful psychic — comes to Midnight for safety and is surrounded by both human and supernatural allies. It’s where he finds Bobo (Bruce), who owns the local pawn shop, witch Fiji (Luke Cage’s Larisa Fitz-Henley), mysterious assassin Olivia (Ballers’ Arielle Kebbel), angel Joe (Sex and the City’s Jason Lewis), vampire Lemuel (True Blood’s Peter Mensah), aspiring writer Creek (Parenthood’s Sarah Ramos) and Reverend Emilio (Captain Phillips’ Yul Vazquez).
The group bands together to fight off outside pressures — cops, deadly biker gangs, and their own dangerous pasts.
Midnight, Texas shifts to Mondays at 10 p.m. beginning July 31.
