Jessica Beil’s The Sinner will have its Canadian premiere on Monday, August 21 at 10 p.m. ET/PT. The series had its American debut last week on USA Network.

The Sinner is based on the best-selling novel, by Petra Hammesfahr, which follows a young mother, Cora (Biel), who kills someone in public, but has no idea why she did it. Christopher Abbott (Girls) co-stars as Cora’s husband, Mason, while Bill Pullman appears as Detective Harry Ambrose, who finds himself obsessed with uncovering why Cora committed the crime. Together, Cora and Det. Ambrose travel to the depths of her psyche and the violent secrets that are hidden in her past. There will be eight episodes of the “limited series.”

The Sinner joins Showcase’s action-packed fall lineup which will also include the third season of Supergirl (premieres Oct. 9), the second season of Travelers (premieres Oct. 9), the fourth season of Transparent (premieres Sept. 29), Mr. Robot (Oct. 11), Channel Zero (Oct. TBA) and Marvel’s Runaways (Nov. 26).
