— A week following the announcement that NBC renewed Days of our Lives for a 54th season, Soap Opera Digest has revealed that Alison Sweeney is back filming as Sami Brady! Sami was last seen in the fall following Will’s (Chandler Massey) resurrection and then shared a tryst with her ex Rafe, which was just exposed at his wedding to Hope.

“That return was successful, and the storyline was so well received,” she tells the soap mag. “I loved every minute of it, and those are big shoes to fill. Great stories like that don’t just grow on trees, and it was so great and freeing to admit to [head writer] Ron Carlivati that I was nervous because it’s such a compliment to him and his writing. But it was great because he said the same thing, ‘Yeah, no kidding!’ I think he felt the same pressure, which was comforting to me to know that it matters to him as much as it does to me.”
