It’s a race against the clock to save the world when the new drama Salvation premieres this Wednesday on Global and CBS.
Filmed in Toronto, the 13-episode series stars Jennifer Finnigan (Tyrant, The Bold and the Beautiful and Student Bodies) as Grace Burrows, the Pentagon’s Press Secretary and single mother, who must deal with a staggering discovery that there’s an enormous asteroid that is just six months away from colliding with Earth.
This discovery is brought to her by tech billionaire Darius Tanz (Big Little Lies’ Santiago Cabrera) and MIT grad student Liam Cole (Red Band Society’s Charlie Rowe). Meanwhile, the government as its own approach to dealing with the asteroid as U.S. Deputy Secretary of Defense Harris Edwards (Hawaii Five-0’s Ian Anthony Dale) has been tasked with running his top-secret plan while he has aspiring sci-fi writer Jillian (Roadies’ Jacqueline Byers) to work on a theoretical approach to saving humanity.
Salvation premieres Wednesday, July 12, at 9 p.m. ET/PT on Global. Episodes will be made available to stream on GlobalTV.com and the Global Go app a day following their broadcast premiere.
