EastEnders spin-off Redwater will have its Canadian premieres this week!
Redwater will premiere on Wednesday, June 28 at 10 p.m. ET / 7 p.m. PT on Vision TV.
The series follows legendary EastEnders couple Kat and Alfie Moon (Jessie Wallace and Shane Richie) as they travel to Ireland to search for Kat’s long-lost son. But is the picturesque village of Redwater ready for the Moons? Kat and Alfie’s presence threatens another family’s deep dark secrets to be exposed. Redwater is written and produced by a BAFTA and Emmy-nominated team including former EastEnders producer Dominic Treadwell-Collins.
Redwater also stars Orphan Black’s Maria Doyle Kennedy (as Roisin) as well as Oisin Stack (Dermott), Stanley Townsend (Peter), Angeline Ball (Eileen), Ian Toner (Kieran), Peter Campion (Andrew), Fionnula (Agnes), Stephen Hogan (Padraig), Susan Ateh (Benie), Ebony O’Toole-Ancheampong (Adeen) and Ian Mcelhinney (Lance).
Redwater finished its six-episode first season last week in the UK and Ireland on BBC and RTE. Fans are eagerly awaiting news for a second season pick up as the finale ended on a huge cliffhanger. Don’t go looking for spoilers, you’ll definitely want to watch as twists unravel week-to-week. You don’t need to be familiar with EastEnders to watch, the spin-off is self-contained and most of the drama involves the Dolan/Harrington/Kelly/Byrne clan. It’s a great character-driven family drama. A perfect escape this summer.
Meanwhile, Vision TV is quickly catching up to the UK airings of EastEnders as Canada is now only about six months behind thanks to six episodes a week. The only catch is that EE is airing during late night on Thursdays and Fridays, but all episodes are available to stream on VisionTV.ca. Hopefully, as we reach closer to the BBC broadcasts, VisionTV will see fit to air the series at a better time, like what CBC does with Coronation Street.
Redwater will air Wednesdays at 10 p.m. ET / 7 p.m. PT on Vision TV. EastEnders airs Thursdays & Fridays from Midnight to 2 a.m. ET / 9 p.m. to 11 p.m. PT.
